What We Believe

We the Brethren of Bivouac Lodge #503, Prince Hall Masons, believe that man is created to serve. We strive to govern our lives in the service of The Eternal Grand Master of the Universe, our families, and the totality of mankind. We also believe that man, especially the Black man, is an endangered species. We, and all Prince Hall Masons, work ceaselessly to reverse this devastating trend plaguing the African American family and community.

Having ourselves traveled from darkness to LIGHT, our progressive endeavor is to inspire others to do the same. We are profoundly alarmed by the character of the majority of public role models, of which our young black men are seeking to emulate. Thus, we believe it is our solemn obligation to provide them with an enlighten alternative. Therefore we discernibly crave to exercise authority over our earthly existence, while traveling through this plain.

If asked what is our greatest hope; or for what cause have we voluntarily offered ourselves, to the service of GOD, family, and mankind. Our answer would be a simple one: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (King James Version).

Greetings

From The Worshipful Master

On behalf of Bivouac Lodge #503 welcome to our humble website. We sincerely hope that you enjoy your visit with us and that upon your doing so, we’ve made a new friend. Bivouac Lodge 503 has dared to believe the words of Mark 9:23 (KJV) which read “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” We have therefore placed our Faith & Trust in the Eternal Grand Master of the Universe, as we continue to take Masonry to previously unconceivable degrees of excellence and Brotherly Love. We believe it is our destiny and duty to advance the path of lionhearted Masonry.

We meet every 2nd & 4th Monday at the Masonic Temple, 1025 E. 14th Street, where all verifiably worthy brethren are welcomed. I look forward to personally reading, answering and considering, your comments, questions, suggestions or criticisms. The GREAT LIGHT states “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28 (KJV). Therefore I sincerely crave all that you may desire to express concerning your experience while visiting our website, or the work we’re doing within Masonry. If I or Bivouac Lodge 503 can be of any assistance to you in the future please let me know.

Sincerely,

T.T. Bailey

Worshipful Master
